Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, also known as the Home of Santa Claus, is a tourist attraction located on the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland.

The village is open year-round. Many attractions operate between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, while during the Christmas peak season, some sites like the post office and Santa's office remain open until 8:00 PM (check the official website for individual attraction hours).
Where
Santa Claus Village is about 8 km from the center of Rovaniemi. Between November and March, the Santa’s Express Bus (more info, tickets, and schedule) runs at least once per hour and stops directly at the village (make sure to get off at Santa Claus Village and not Santa Park). In winter, many organized transfers from hotels and tour operators are also available. The ride takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Taxi/Uber is also a good option.

This is the official Santa Claus Post Office, managed by the Finnish postal service. Every year, hundreds of thousands of letters arrive here from all over the world. You can watch the postal staff (dressed as elves!) at work and even send your own postcard with the exclusive Arctic Circle postmark.
3. Arctic Circle line
Running through the heart of the village is the Arctic Circle, marked by a white line symbolizing where the Arctic begins. Many visitors take photos while “crossing the Arctic Circle” – a truly special moment! There are signs and information panels explaining the significance of the Arctic Circle, and you can even receive a certificate proving you’ve crossed this unique geographical line. In winter, the line is beautifully illuminated.

Reindeer are an iconic symbol of Lapland, and at Santa Claus Village you can experience them up close. Learn about their way of life, their role in Sami culture, and enjoy short sleigh rides pulled by reindeer. In winter, this becomes a magical experience through snow-covered forests. 5. Snowman World
Snowman World is a seasonal snow and ice park open from December to March. It features ice and snow slides, ice sculptures, an ice bar, and even a snow restaurant. 7. Arctic Circle Husky Park
At the Husky Park you can meet the energetic and friendly huskies that have traditionally been used for transport in Lapland. Visitors can learn more about how the dogs are trained and cared for, and in winter you can join a short or longer dog sledding tour (more info and tours). Important: Husky tours in Santa Claus Village are extremely popular, and it is highly recommended to book in advance!
8. Elf Hat Academy
The Elf Hat Academy is a fun and interactive experience where visitors learn what it’s like to be a real Christmas elf. Guided by “official elves,” participants engage in workshops such as gift wrapping, singing Christmas carols, and completing small elf challenges. 9. Santa's Pets
Visit Santa’s reindeer, alpacas and other animals and meet them up close. You can feed the animals yourself and enjoy a relaxing walk with a reindeer or alpaca through the winter landscape (more info about Santa's Pets).

11. Piparina’s Gingerbread Cabins
Piparina’s private cabins offer a cozy place to relax between activities – perfect for families, couples, and small groups. The wooden cabins have a warm Lapland atmosphere and are furnished with a dining table, sofa, and rocking chair. 12. Santa's Motor Park
Ice karting at Santa Claus Village is a unique winter activity where you race special karts on an icy track. On the ice you have much less grip than on a regular kart track, making drifting and controlled sliding part of the challenge. This makes the activity both exciting and fun for beginners as well as experienced drivers. The track is located next to Santa Claus Village, and booking your karting session in advance is required (sessions are available at 12:00 and 14:00 only).
