Option 1: Rovaniemi Airport Shuttle Bus
The most affordable way to travel from the airport is the Airport Santa Express Bus. This bus service operates two different lines (the yellow Airport Express and the red Santa Express) running between the train station, the city center, Santa Claus Village, and the airport.
- Tickets cost € 7 one way. The cheapest option is to purchase tickets in advance on the official website, but you can also pay directly to the driver for a small surcharge.
- The Airport Express bus connects with incoming flights and runs approximately every 25 minutes. The bus does not follow a fixed timetable.
- There are multiple stops along the route: Airport – Bus Station – Lapinkävijäntie (Korundi Museum) – Rinteenkulma Shopping Centre – Ruokasenkatu 1 – Ruokasenkatu 2 – Aallonkatu (Hotel Pohjanhovi) – Toripuistikko – Poromiehentie – Arctic TreeHouse Hotel (optional) – Back to Airport (see exact route).
Option 2: Taxi from the Airport
Taxi: The most comfortable way to reach your hotel in central Rovaniemi is by taxi. Official taxi stands are located opposite the arrivals hall, and most taxis operate by meter. On average, a taxi ride takes just over 15 minutes and costs around € 35. You can also pre-book your taxi via Welcome Pickups to ensure the price and have a driver waiting for you upon arrival.
